On 20 March, the accreditation ceremony for the Pearson PEIC International Assessment Centre was successfully held at our school. The event was attended by Heide Schaffer, Head of School; Jessie Wu, Executive President of the School; Hongwei Ci, General Manager of the Pearson English International Certification Examination Service Centre; and Scotty Yuan, Business Manager for the PTE Central China region.

Ms Jessie Wu delivered a welcome speech, expressing her warm appreciation for the establishment of the Pearson PEIC test centre at our school and her sincere thanks to all those involved in making this partnership possible.

Ms Heide Schaffer then introduced the school’s educational philosophy and highlighted its recent achievements. She emphasised that IGS is committed to multicultural integration and the development of global competencies. She also noted that this partnership will provide an important opportunity for the school to further strengthen its language learning and assessment provision and to offer students an even more professional and internationally recognised platform.

Mr Hongwei Ci remarked that the International German School Hefei, as a leading example of high-quality international education in Anhui, shares values that are closely aligned with those of Pearson. He described the partnership as an important step for both sides in advancing international education and supporting the continued growth and development of students.

Following this, both parties signed the cooperation agreement and held the accreditation ceremony, officially designating our school as the only authorised Pearson PEIC Young Learners and General English International Certification test centre in Anhui Province.

After the ceremony, Pearson representatives conducted specialist training for examiners. The training covered the PEIC assessment system, grading standards, examination procedures, scoring criteria and test administration, providing a strong professional foundation for the standardised delivery of future assessments.

As the first Pearson PEIC accredited test centre in Anhui Province, our school will continue to integrate high-quality international educational resources, further develop a professional and reliable language assessment platform, and support students in Anhui in connecting with the wider world and strengthening their global competitiveness.
