Having journeyed from Germany, Thomas Siber Tischer (Volkswagen AG, Global Assignments Wolfsburg) paid us a visit. He was accompanied by Xu Shouxiang (HR Manager) as well as HR Consultants from the VW Anhui.
It’s 9:00 AM in Hefei. The morning sun peeks through the treetops onto the terrace of the school cafeteria. Looking towards the adventure playground, you can see birds busily chattering on the old village pump. Later in the day, the little ones from kindergarten will be building sandcastles and river landscapes here, and flying colorful kites.
Siber Tischer and his colleagues were visibly impressed by the IGS campus. They noted that it’s important for newly arriving families that their children quickly feel at home and can later reintegrate into their home country’s school system without any problems. The visitors also found it significant that the IGS plans events for parents. This, they felt, would allow people to quickly make connections and settle into the local community.
