What an exciting day at Summer Camp! Curiosity, inventiveness – and real science were all in demand today.
In the morning, our young tinkerers built their own electroscope. There was screwing, bending, and testing – and suddenly it was there: the invisible force of electrical charge. The children were fascinated as small deflections appeared after rubbing a balloon.

But the real highlight came afterwards: building a working electric motor. A true challenge – after all, this wasn’t just simple crafting, but a project that requires concentration even from engineers.
With a lot of patience, teamwork, and creativity, small prototypes were created from wooden blocks, wire, magnets, and batteries.

Not every motor spun immediately – but like true researchers, our summer campers didn’t give up. Together with Mr. Kehm, the models were carefully examined: Where was the contact broken? Was enough varnish removed? Was there a short circuit? Piece by piece, solutions were found – and gradually, more and more coils started to move.

When the first motors actually hummed, the cheering was immense. It was a goosebump moment – not just for the children.

We not only learned about electricity and magnetism – but also how important perseverance, teamwork, and curiosity are. A true day of discovery that everyone will remember for a long time.
