With shining eyes and great curiosity, our 5th and 6th graders experienced their very first project sessions in the new Makerspace. Over the course of nine lessons, they immersed themselves in the exciting world of LEGO Spike Robotics. Along the way, they not only built and programmed, but also demonstrated plenty of team spirit and creativity.

The journey began with a bridge-building challenge: students sketched and designed their ideas on paper before bringing them to life with LEGO elements. In the process, they trained their engineering skills and learned just how important planning and stability are when it comes to construction.

Next came the question: Which car goes the farthest? The teams built vehicles designed to travel further than those of their competitors. By applying knowledge about gears and transmissions, the students optimized their cars – and cheered enthusiastically as the wheels kept rolling.

The grand finale was the missions challenge: students programmed their vehicles to complete as many quests as possible in a short amount of time. Here, it became clear how much they had already learned – from programming logic to clever teamwork.

These first hours in the Makerspace made one thing very clear: learning can be exciting, playful, and challenging all at once. Thanks to the cooperation with xRobo, our students not only built robots but also discovered how creativity, technology, and teamwork can lead to real solutions.

We are already looking forward to the next adventures in the Makerspace!
