From June 24 to 26, 2025, the Sino-German Smart Manufacturing Matchmaking Conference in Hefei brought together 140 registered attendees, including nearly 100 German companies, to network and explore collaboration opportunities.

As a proud member of the German Chamber of Commerce in China (AHK), IGS Hefei actively participated in the conference, seizing the chance to introduce itself as a new international educational institution.

During the opening speeches, Vice Governor LI Zhong, Consul General Dr. Norbert Riedel, Maximilian Butek (AHK), and Sun Donghai (Director Bureau of Commerce of Anhui Province) highlighted Anhui’s remarkable development into a leading economic and scientific hub. The establishment of the International German School Hefei was also specifically mentioned in their remarks, underscoring its significance.

The conference impressively showcased Anhui’s exceptionally favourable conditions for investments and foreign settlements, backed by astonishing figures. Key industries in quantum communication, dynamic storage chips, and material technology have reached the global forefront.

Discussions with various company representatives during the conference and subsequent company visits clearly demonstrated the international focus of these firms. This not only revealed a natural interest in multilingual international school education but also underscored that the provision of international education itself is a crucial factor for internationalization and growth.
