IGS Kindergarten Visit to First Grade

Our kindergarten preschoolers had the opportunity to experience a very special milestone: their first visit to the primary school! With great curiosity and excitement, they set off to gain their first impression of school life.

Together with the first-grade students, they took part in small lessons, explored new learning materials, and experienced the school as a lively and engaging environment. This allowed them to gain valuable first-hand experiences, gather new impressions, and feel the excitement of this important next step.

To ensure a smooth and confident transition from kindergarten to primary school, a total of three visits will take place during the second half of the year, offering insights into different subjects.

The first graders enthusiastically took on the role of “little teachers,” guiding the preschoolers with patience and a great sense of care. They introduced letters, supported them in writing their names, and practiced early writing skills. In mathematics, they worked together with numbers up to 10, using familiar materials such as counting frames and linking cubes. In science, the children discovered the human skeleton together and gained exciting insights into how the body is built.

The preschoolers also participated in an English lesson, where it became especially clear how much they have already learned through the daily immersive English and German environment in kindergarten. With growing confidence, they actively joined in and proudly demonstrated their language skills.

Our preschoolers returned full of enthusiasm, curiosity, and pride. At the same time, the first graders showed great responsibility and joy in supporting the younger children, making this experience truly meaningful and memorable for everyone involved.
