Welcome to IGS Hefei: Orientation Day 2025–2026

The 2025–2026 school year began on a warm and welcoming note with Orientation Day at the International German School Hefei. Students, parents, and teachers from over 12 countries and regions came together to celebrate the start of a new academic journey.

“The most valuable things we can give our children are love and a good education,” said Ms Schaffer, Head of School, in her opening address. She warmly welcomed all families and offered a thoughtful introduction to the school’s diverse teaching team, highlighting their professional experience and shared educational philosophy.

In the classrooms, teachers guided families through the learning spaces, explained the use of educational resources, and offered insights into IGS Hefei’s interactive teaching approach.

The school’s library—with its rich collection of books and inviting reading corners—was especially popular among parents. Meanwhile, the fully equipped music room and modern gym inspired students with a glimpse of the many opportunities ahead.

Younger children and families in need of language support were welcomed into the “Kids’ Corner” and “Language Activity Zone,” where staff provided tailored guidance in a relaxed and friendly environment.

As the sun set, families gathered in the cafeteria and school garden for a festive barbecue. Under the soft glow of evening lights, Orientation Day came to a close in a joyful and communal atmosphere—leaving everyone feeling connected, inspired, and excited for the school year ahead.
