As part of our daily routine, we place great importance on introducing children to healthy eating in a way that is engaging and easy to experience.
With this in mind, we recently prepared fresh fruit skewers together with the children. They had the opportunity to explore different types of fruit, choose their favourites, and prepare them independently. Through selecting, cutting, and assembling the fruit, the children gained valuable sensory experiences and further developed their curiosity about healthy foods.

At the same time, a key focus was on encouraging independent work in the kitchen. With guidance, the children practiced using child-friendly knives and carried out simple preparation steps on their own. This not only supported their fine motor skills but also strengthened their confidence in their own abilities.
We also placed emphasis on hygiene and food handling. Washing hands, working cleanly, and handling food with care were discussed and practiced in a way that was appropriate for the children’s age.

A special highlight was sharing and enjoying the fruit skewers together afterwards. This moment not only fostered an appreciation for their own efforts but also strengthened the sense of community within the group.
Through everyday activities like this, we combine important areas of learning such as health, independence, and social interaction—always with the goal of supporting the children’s overall development while encouraging joy in discovery and hands-on learning. We are already looking forward to many more shared kitchen experiences!
