IGS Spring Term 2026: New Beginnings and New Growth

The Spring Term 2026 has begun at IGS, and the campus is once again filled with laughter and energy. As the new term gets underway, there is already much to celebrate and look forward to across the school.

Kindergarten

To help the children settle smoothly back into school life, our teachers prepared a warm and thoughtful welcome. Heartfelt hugs, cheerful smiles and beautifully decorated classrooms created an atmosphere of care and reassurance, helping every child begin the new term feeling safe, supported and happy.

To mark International Women’s Day, the children also made greeting cards by hand under the guidance of their teachers. Filled with love and gratitude for the important women in their lives, these cards gave the children a meaningful opportunity to express their feelings and to appreciate those who care for them.

German-English Bilingual Programme

Students in the German-English Bilingual Programme have started the term with exciting new learning experiences. As Ms Agnes Bilowitzki shared, Grades 1 and 3 will work together on a thematic inquiry into teeth and healthy nutrition. Through engaging activities and hands-on learning, students will build health awareness and develop positive everyday habits.

Meanwhile, Grade 4 has begun preparing an interactive exhibition on Germany and its federal states, strengthening both communication and practical skills through inquiry-based learning.

For the older students, the new term builds naturally on the work of the previous one. They have already resumed their learning routines in a focused and organised way during the first week back. Grade 7 is exploring interest calculations to strengthen practical mathematical skills, while Grade 8 has begun studying square roots, laying a solid foundation for further learning in mathematics.

English Cambridge Programme

Students in the English Cambridge Programme have also returned with enthusiasm. Younger learners enjoyed their first PE lesson of the new term, and the introduction of badminton has generated great excitement.

PE teacher Mr Adheesh Munilal explained, “We started with basic skills such as grip and serving, and the students practised with real commitment. Their enthusiasm for the sport is clear to see.”

Looking ahead, older students will soon begin a new practical project in newspaper creation. As Ms Jenalyn Manalo Yerro explained, “Students will choose their own topics, write articles and design layouts independently. Through this project, they will further develop their language skills, logical thinking and ability to work collaboratively.”

The new term has begun with energy, purpose and promise. We look forward to seeing every IGS student continue to grow through exploration, embrace new opportunities and move forward with confidence and curiosity.
