Ahead of the 2026/27 academic year, the IGS General Affairs Team has been working intensively behind the scenes to ensure that every aspect of campus safety, school bus operations and catering is fully prepared for the new school year. With a strong focus on creating a safe, welcoming and comfortable learning environment, we are ready to welcome all students and staff back to campus.
Strengthening Safety Across Campus
The IGS General Affairs Team has organised professional safety training for all campus security personnel, covering standard procedures for visitor registration, one‑touch alarm operation, fire emergencies and on-site evacuation. Comprehensive inspections and maintenance have also been carried out on campus surveillance systems, access-control equipment and fire-safety facilities. Additional security staff will be deployed during peak times to ensure that the campus remains safe and well protected throughout the school day.
The school clinic has completed a full inventory of its medical supplies. All first-aid materials and routine medicines have been checked for stock levels and expiry dates, with seasonal supplies replenished ahead of the autumn term to further strengthen our emergency support provision.
Strict measures are also in place to ensure the safety and quality of our drinking water. In cooperation with a certified third-party testing agency, the team has carried out thorough inspections of all direct-drinking-water facilities and associated pipework. Water dispensers across the campus have also been checked and their temperatures carefully adjusted, ensuring that students have reliable access to clean, safe and appropriately chilled or warm drinking water throughout the day.
In addition, our cleaning team has carried out deep cleaning, thorough sanitisation and extensive ventilation across all classrooms in the teaching buildings during the summer break. This comprehensive refresh ensures that our learning spaces are clean, hygienic and ready for the start of the new school year.
Ensuring Safe and Reliable School Bus Services
To support safe and reliable daily journeys between home and school, the General Affairs Team has completed comprehensive maintenance and operational checks across the entire school bus fleet, alongside the formal application process for route and stop signage.
All buses have undergone deep cleaning and thorough sanitisation. Key safety features, including air-conditioning systems, seat belts and emergency exit windows, have been fully inspected and tested to minimise potential risks and ensure a safe journey for every student.
All school bus drivers have also completed specialist training in road safety and emergency first aid. Every bus is equipped with first-aid kits, fire extinguishers and other essential emergency equipment, providing an additional layer of safety and reassurance for students and families.
Seasonal Menus to Support Student Wellbeing
With the arrival of early autumn, our cafeteria has introduced a new seasonal menu for the new school year. Designed with seasonal nutritional needs in mind, the menu includes fresh ingredients such as okra, pumpkin and seasonal fruit, while bringing together a variety of Chinese and Western flavours. Vegetarian and allergy-conscious options are also available to accommodate different dietary preferences, cultural backgrounds and individual requirements.
Recognising that children’s digestive systems can be particularly sensitive during seasonal changes, Chef Jimmy has carefully adjusted the flavours and composition of dishes to suit the time of year. Every meal is prepared in line with sound nutritional principles, balancing flavour and variety with the wellbeing and healthy development of our students.
