Little Gardeners Growing Big – Discovering the Wonderful World of Flowers

Summer is here, and nature is showing us its most beautiful colors. Everywhere around us, flowers are growing, blooming, and changing day by day. These little wonders of nature sparked the children’s curiosity – and their questions became the beginning of our exciting flower project.

Together, we went on a journey of discovery: How does a flower grow? What does it need to thrive? And why is every flower so unique? The children explored the different parts of a flower, from the roots hidden beneath the soil all the way up to the colorful blossoms.

Using all their senses, the children discovered the fascinating world of flowers. They carefully observed different plants and blossoms, used magnifying glasses to explore tiny details, compared colors and shapes, and experienced the unique scents of different flowers. They also engaged their sense of taste by trying edible parts of plants, such as sunflower seeds, discovering the many ways plants are part of our everyday lives.

The children expressed their observations and ideas creatively through different materials and techniques. Using clay, finger paints, craft paper, and various art materials, they created small and large flowers, colorful artworks, and their very own beautiful flower meadows.

The highlight of our project was planting our own sunflowers. The children were able to apply their newly gained knowledge and take responsibility for caring for their plants. They will continue to observe, nurture, and experience how a tiny seed can grow into something wonderful with time, patience, and care.

A project full of curiosity, creativity, and meaningful experiences – allowing our children to discover nature with their minds, hearts, and hands.
